By accessing the website located at scan4u.in and/or downloading the Scan4U Mobile Application from the Google Play Store (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, you must discontinue your use of our platform immediately.

2. Description of Service & Data Guarantee

Scan4U provides a cloud-native and client-side suite of tools designed to manipulate, convert, and secure digital documents (PDFs and Images). We provide these tools free of charge for personal and professional use.

Zero Data Retention: As detailed in our Privacy Policy, we do not store, archive, or claim ownership of the files you process. Files are either processed locally on your device or automatically purged from our servers immediately after the task is completed.

3. User Responsibilities & Acceptable Use

You agree to use our tools responsibly, ethically, and only for lawful purposes. While using Scan4U, you are strictly prohibited from:

• Uploading documents that contain viruses, malware, trojans, or any malicious code designed to harm our servers or other users.
• Using the service for any illegal activity, including the distribution of pirated material, child exploitation content, or stolen data.
• Attempting to bypass our security protocols, reverse-engineer our tools, or hack our server infrastructure.
• Using automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to bulk-process files or extract data from our platform without express written permission.
• Uploading documents that you do not have the legal right or explicit permission to modify or process.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

Your Content: You retain all intellectual property rights to the documents, images, and signatures you upload to Scan4U. We claim no ownership over your files.

Our Content: The Scan4U name, logo, website design, mobile app code, text, and custom software infrastructure are the exclusive property of Scan4U. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our proprietary code or designs without our consent.

5. Third-Party Services & Advertising

To keep our services free, Scan4U integrates with third-party advertising and analytics networks, including Google AdSense (Web) and Google AdMob & Firebase (Mobile App). Your interaction with these third-party services is governed by their respective Terms of Service and Privacy Policies. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements or external websites linked from our platform.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Scan4U Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. While we strive to provide a flawless, high-quality experience, we make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, or availability of the service.

We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. You use the tools at your own risk, and you are responsible for maintaining backups of your original documents.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Scan4U, its founders, developers, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Loss of data, file corruption, or unintended formatting modifications during document processing.
• Loss of profits, business interruptions, or loss of reputation resulting from the inability to use our tools.
• Issues arising from the misuse of encrypted files, including forgotten passwords on the "Protect PDF" tool, which cannot be recovered by us.

8. Modifications to the Service & Terms

Scan4U reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service temporarily or permanently without prior notice. Furthermore, we reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
